There is gazillion of free newspapers given out every night in London. The simple reason I'm not taking any of them is that when I enter the tube the load of those is already there. On sits, on the floor and wherever you can spot the tiniest piece of flat surface.
I do pick up one of them and really don't mind the mess. It's not proven fact but it's likely that public transport just have to be a bit messy.
What makes me wonder are those rare occasions, where there is no single piece of paper in a carriage at all. There is obvious solution for paper-mesas in tube. It's called shelf or basket. Everyone than can pick up and leave his piece of info there leaving carriage nice and tidy.
But one day it happens that I found much better solution for messy papers introduced by our perfect government. The expensive and time consuming baskets are not for Londoners.
What we've got here in capitol are especially deployed groups of paper-removers on the final stops of every tube line.
Next time when your coach does not arrive to pick you up on time don't be annoyed. It's just not ready yet.
